Jamie Durie

Award-winning international designer and creator, Jamie Durie founded his design studio in 1998, 16 years ago. Since then, his team, Durie Design, has received over 33 international design awards. His most recent accolade came in May 2014, when he was honored with the New York Design Award for his interior design of the Tubular Dining Chair, created for RIVA 1920. Although the studio originally specialized in landscape architecture, Durie Design has since evolved into a multidisciplinary design practice spanning architecture, interior design, landscape design, and his greatest passion—furniture design. Durie and his team have developed a unique design language and coined the term "transterior", which has become well known for seamlessly blending indoor and outdoor spaces. He stands firmly behind his philosophy of bringing outdoor living inside and extending indoor spaces outward, allowing clients to connect more deeply with nature in a carefully considered and sophisticated design environment. Even his furniture designs draw inspiration from nature.
