The Pangea table design by architect De Lucchi and created by Riva 1920 on the occasion of Expo 2015 was on display in the wonderful and central setting of Piazza Ita-lia, at the intersection of the Cardo and the Decumanus.

The project is inspired by and takes its name from Pangea, the only continent that was originally believed to include all the emerged lands and which during the following geological eras was divided into the various continents. The surface of 80 square meters made of Kauri, millennial wood from the subsoil of New Zealand, is composed of 19 shaped pieces and is supported by 271 legs made of Briccola, recovered oak poles of the Venice lagoon.
