“Pininfarina Extra, is part of Pininfarina, the internationally known design house, whose history dates back to 1930 when it was founded by Battista Panin-Farina, who began the most famous car designer of his age. La Cisitalia 202 (1947), for example, was the first and the unique car to enter in the permanent collection of MoMa in New York in 1961. Moreover, until today, more than 100 produced Ferrari were designed by Pininfarina.

In 1986, the third generation of Pininfarina family founded Pininfarina Extra Srl to extend the company competence outside of the car sector. In more than 25 years of activity, Pininfarina Extra developed more than 500 projects under the direction of his president and CEO, Paolo Pininfarina (now president of Pininfarina Group), and gained his own trade mark and a clear identity.
